Enterprises are no longer safe from dangerous and expensive ransomware attacks in modern times. It can enter an organization through multiple vectors, such as email spam, phishing attacks, or malicious web downloads. For the highest level of protection, organizations are encouraged to deploy multiple layers of security on the endpoint, gateway, and mail servers.

Ransomware attacks are growing more common and sophisticated. Advanced threat protection (ATP) solutions are designed to minimize these attacks’ risks to an organization’s endpoints by preventing attacks before they occur.

We are proud to announce that Seqrite has received the “Advanced Approved Endpoint Protection” 2021 Test Certification.

What is “Advanced Approved Endpoint Protection”

AV-Test, a leading international and independent service provider in IT security and anti-virus research, recently tested several security products for their protection capabilities against ransomware attacks.

The test cases in this test were guided by the MITRE framework and emulated attack patterns exhibited by various APT groups. The security products were evaluated based on how well they could protect target systems against ransomware delivered via these mechanisms.

All the test cases followed the fundamental MITRE matrix, i.e., started with ‘Initial Access’ or ‘Execution’ followed by ‘Defence Evasion’ then ‘Discovery’ and finally the ‘Collection’ phase. Some test cases tried to take remote control of the system, and thus the ‘Command and Control’ phase also came into the picture. All the stages recorded the behaviour of security products and scored their effectiveness on which phase the attack was detected.

Out of 10 test cases, Seqrite EPS completely detected eight instances at the 1st or 2nd stage itself. Seqrite EPS was seen and protected against the remaining 2 cases as well. However, some remnants of the attack were left on the system, and hence those detections were considered partial. As AV-Test also noted, though, those remnants were benign and not indicative of a successful infection.

Seqrite EPS protects from Ransomware and APT attacks

With an ever-evolving threat of ransomware, Seqrite’s EPS suite offers cutting-edge protection to your network, connected devices and data. The solution protects businesses from unknown advanced, sophisticated ransomware attacks and APT attacks from detection scan to asset management.

The 360-degree cloud Advanced Threat Protection and data security solution prevents, detects, and notifies for advanced threats – through email, mobile, social, and the desktop – and help you resolve them before they cause lasting harm.

Built with a Prevention-First mindset, Seqrite EPS helps protect organizations and the remote workforce from today’s complex threat landscape.

The Labs tested the detection capabilities of Seqrite’s advanced endpoint protection solution in terms of their performance against new, still unknown attack scenarios with ransomware, as hacker groups typically carry them out.

Multiple leading endpoint protection solutions were pitted against ten realistic APT attacks with ransomware. Seqrite received a protection score of 31.5 pts in the Test. The certification testifies that Seqrite EPS can deal with complex ransomware attacks. This enables organizations to recover encrypted data while ensuring business continuity and productivity.
