Quick Heal Technologies LTD. And IDRBT Launch IB-Cart 3.0 To Revolutionize Cybersecurity In Banking
March 19, 2025
- The Next-Generation Platform Delivers Contextual Intelligence Feeds, Advanced Security Controls, and Expanded Use Cases for the Banking Sector
Hyderabad, 19th March 2025: Quick Heal Technologies Limited, a global leader in cybersecurity solutions, including its enterprise arm, Seqrite, in collaboration with the Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT), is proud to announce the launch of IB-CART 3.0, the next-generation version of the Indian Banks – Center for Analysis of Risks and Threats (IB-CART). This advanced platform, backed by threat intelligence from Seqrite Labs—India’s largest malware analysis facility—marks a significant milestone in strengthening cybersecurity for the banking and financial services sector in India. The launch event was graced by members of the IDRBT Governing Council, IDRBT Faculty, and Shri Lalit Mohan, Chief Product Officer at Quick Heal Technologies Ltd.
IB-CART, established in 2014, has been a cornerstone in fostering information sharing and collaboration among banks to combat cyber threats. With the launch of IB-CART 3.0, Quick Heal and IDRBT aim to further enhance the platform’s capabilities, ensuring a more robust and secure banking ecosystem.
Key Enhancements in IB-CART 3.0
The new version introduces several cutting-edge features designed to address the evolving cybersecurity landscape:
- Wider Reach: The platform now extends its services to a broader set of regulated and supervised entities, including members not connected to INFINET.
- Advanced Security Controls: Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) based on sector-specific digital signatures ensures heightened security for users.
- Contextual Intelligence Feeds: Quick Heal has enabled the delivery of richer, contextualized threat intelligence feeds tailored specifically for the Banking and Financial Services (BFS) sector.
- Expanded Use Cases: Beyond sharing and reporting Indicators of Compromise (IoCs), the platform now supports additional use cases, including malware analysis, empowering banks to proactively mitigate risks.
The collaboration represents a significant step towards enhancing cybersecurity measures in the financial technology landscape. IDRBT, established by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in 1996, is an institution exclusively focused on banking technology, making it an ideal partner for Quick Heal to address the evolving needs of the banking and financial services sector.
This partnership builds on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Quick Heal and IDRBT in November 2024, which emphasized applied research in cutting-edge areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and deepfake detection. The launch of IB-CART 3.0 is a testament to the success of this collaboration, combining Quick Heal’s industry-leading expertise with IDRBT’s research capabilities to deliver next-generation cybersecurity solutions.
Vishal Salvi, CEO, Quick Heal Technologies Limited, said, “The launch of IB-CART 3.0 is a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to advancing cybersecurity solutions for the banking and financial services sector. By combining Quick Heal & Seqrite’s industry-leading expertise in threat detection and prevention with IDRBT’s cutting-edge research capabilities, we are poised to develop innovative solutions that address the evolving cybersecurity challenges faced by financial institutions. Our focus on contextualized intelligence feeds and advanced security controls will not only enhance the security posture of the banking sector but also contribute to the broader field of cybersecurity”.
Since its establishment, IB-CART has played a pivotal role in creating a platform to develop safety nets to contain cyberattacks. With over 90 users from 60+ public, private, and foreign banks, IB-CART continues to be a model for other critical sectors in India. The platform’s regular cyber drills, including the latest one conducted in February 2023 with participation from 60 banks, have further strengthened the incident management processes of the banking sector.
As cyber threats continue to evolve, Quick Heal and IDRBT remain committed to innovation and collaboration. IB-CART 3.0 is a significant step forward in ensuring the resilience of India’s banking infrastructure, fostering trust, and safeguarding public confidence in the financial system.
